Hey guys, have any of you ever heard of the Caverns of Sonora? What about Carlsbad Caverns? Well, these two places are very similar. The main differences are that there are more people at Carlsbad, and the Caverns of Sonora have more quality rather than quantity. Our family went to Sonora and it was gorgeous. We went during a less crowded time meaning we were the only ones on the tour!! Our tour guide was this awesome guy named Patrick who made sure to show us everything he thought was the coolest.
There were some stalagmites that the trail was built around! You had to be very careful not to touch anything though, because the oils from your hands could damage the formations. Yikes! But even though you couldn't touch anything, you sure got close enough that you could if you wanted to! There were places where you had to duck under growing stalactites!!! Another cool thing about Sonora was the "clever" names given out to the forms. There was
Cave bacon and
Popcorn (I know, it makes you hungry right?), then there was the little lower room (this room was a little lower than the low room) the white giants room (this room had many big white formations) the bottle brush room
